On my first $2,000 invoice, I received only $1,861.70 with zero prior warning. There is no disclosure during onboarding, no warning when setting up Stripe, and nothing shown before the client pays. Great, been using it since the start of my business. As a service-based business working across multiple clients and projects, Harvest gives me the visibility I need to understand where our time is being spent and make better decisions around workload, capacity and billing. Invoicing is kept consistent, easy to do, easy to follow up. Harvest has made tracking client work much more efficient. It’s simple to use, easy to review, and saves me from having to piece together time and project information manually. Time tracking is the reason I use it (especially over something like Clockify or Toggl). I wanted something that would make time tracking easier, not create more admin. Harvest does exactly that. It’s clean, intuitive and gives me the information I actually need to manage client work properly, and see my revenue. I use the time tracking reports regularly to review hours, understand how much time we’re spending on different areas of work, and keep an eye on workloads and project profitability. I also use the invoice reports a lot. Our group utilized the platform for time tracking and expense tracking, and we found it to be easy to use on a daily basis. #### Cons We have been longtime Harvest customers and were recently notified that our pricing would increase from approximately $6,000 per year to $30,000 per year, a 5x increase. When we questioned the increase, we were told the new pricing already reflected an 85% discount. A price increase of this magnitude is simply not reasonable, so we are leaving Harvest and moving to OneSuite. When we originally were researching time tracking and invoicing software this one rose to the surface and it has remained one of the leaders in this space. Having said that, it's not cheap, particularly if you need multiple people on it, so there are definitely options out there that cost less and or are free if that is what you are looking for. It takes me out of flow and into a space that doesn't really foster creative ideas or spark the imagination. Harvest makes the process about as painless as possible (let's be real, tracking time will never be entirely painless) and frees me up to focus on what I do and how I best deliver value to my clients and team. For clients that prefer to pay by credit card, it allows you to deliver the invoice via a web portal with the ability to pay via PayPal with your cc. #### Cons I still feel that the project setup scenarios could be simplified and / or streamlined. The user interface is clean and friendly. It integrates well with Google Chrome. I find it easy to set up projects and track time. #### Cons I wish on an individual time card you could see what time (clock time) was logged instead of total time. We used to track our time manually in Google sheets, but Harvest changed the game and made things a lot simpler for our employees. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Functionality: 5/5 #### Pros Sometimes its the simple software that provides the most value. In this case, while Harvest does provide some features that we do not use, it is incredibly simple to understand and use on a daily basis. We feel that we are really utilizing the software to the fullest extent even though we only use it to track time for internal purposes. We don't feel like we are wasting money paying for a software that is only partially utilized. #### Cons I am sure that for some companies the simplicity may not be practical. Uninvoiced report is very usefull if you have correctly configured billiable and non billiable hours. #### Cons I believe they should include the possibility to have different cost rates to tracks. For example, we have different rates to the customer according to the task involved, but you cannot replicate that on the cost view.
