Great tool for visibility and review
FloQast uses CSMs to keep in touch with the customers and keep customers up to date. The support team is extrememly responsive and can help you work through any changes you want to make.
PROSOverall platform helps for overall visibility into reconciliation issues globally and drives uniform use for accounts and reconciliation methods. We also rely on the auto features to highlight unexpected general ledger accounts changes and errors in journal entries.
CONSWe don't have many cons. We are excited that FloQast is developing tools to help expand the use.

FloQast Ease of Use is Excellent...and the Auditors Love it Too!
Implementation was a breeze - we had just rolled off of a large ERP implementation the year before and we were expecting more of the same with FloQast - but we were up and running in less than two weeks. And better yet, the team was using the system prior to the FloQast-led training session - it is that easy to use and that intuitive! Since the initial go-live, which involved the Accounting team only and focused on the monthly GL close and reconciliation process, we have rolled out to the financial reporting team, FP&A, and Payroll, each of whom has been very satisfied with the efficiency and control they have gained around their processes. But I think the main benefit has been the rollout of the system to our external auditors. We have transitioned the quarterly PBC list from their proprietary system into FloQast, and given them access to all of our financial reporting and monthly close checklist tasks and reconciliation reports. The auditors can pull the data that they need without assistance from the accounting or financial reporting teams, saving both us and them significant time during the audit. The number of conversations and emails has fallen off of a cliff and we are now on top of audit requests - often completing well in advance of the due date!
CONSMy only negative for FloQast would be in the Flux Reporting module, and specifically the flux report layout process. It is still a bit more difficult to make modifications to the reports, especially if your flux reporting is done at the financial statement line item level. However, based on past experience, I am sure that changes to this process are on the FloQast roadmap since many of the improvements that I've seen in the system over the past three years are the direct result of customer comments/suggestions!
Reasons for switching to FloQast
We had been using Excel checklists for the monthly close in each of our accounting groups, so didn't have a lot of insight into the overall close process. Reconciliations were handled within each group manually, with hard copy signoffs, so we needed to make copies for the auditors which was very time consuming.

Floqast allowed us to efficiently implement a month end close process making review easier
Better insight into our month end close for timeliness and accuracy.
PROSThe pros are ease of use and modification. The website is intuitive to use and has good visuals. The ability to link to our existing process allowed for easy implementation and instruction to our staff. The customer support has also been great with short response times for almost any issue. The FQ team have regularly reached out regarding additional items that could be added to the platform as well.
CONSOne of the cons we have run into is our use of OneDrive but some of our connectivity issues are not attributed to Floqast specifically. The biggest downside for our use of the system has been the inability to separate reviewer and preparer from having something due. If the preparer has not completed the task it is still shown as open for the reviewer. This also affects analytics as a reviewer can't control the timeliness of the preparer in some cases.

FloQast is Amazing!
FloQast has assisted our team in providing structure and efficiency to utility management, month-end close and financial reporting procedures. We also use FloQast for Flux Analysis to quickly identify areas that need attention in our organization. Our team repeatedly mentions how we wish every vendor we use were as excellent as FloQast.
PROSOur team has been blown away by the customer service experience delivered by FloQast. The FloQast team members have been exceptional through every stage of the process - sales, implementation, and official launch. It is apparent upon first using the system that FloQast was designed by accountants for accountants. FloQast clearly illustrates bottlenecks and inefficiencies through month-end analytics allowing management to address staffing needs and cross-training. Our implementation team provided reconciliation templates and tools that helped us automate our close process. Every month our close process gets better and better through our use of FloQast. FloQast provides structure, efficiency, and insight into month-end close procedures. The FloQast team also encouraged us to identify other areas/processes we could use the system to improve. On their recommendation, we added additional workflows for functions such as utility management and financial reporting; it has been incredibly beneficial to use FloQast to enhance our entire Finance Department. All questions we ask have been answered timely and have been thoroughly researched. The FloQast team provides results! If there is a feature FloQast currently doesn't offer, they will actively work to implement this in the future. FloQast team members are knowledgable, considerate, and genuinely care about the success of the companies that use their products.
CONSThere is nothing we dislike about FloQast.

We chose FloQast because of their excellent customer service and because FloQast syncs directly to Sage Intacct, our accounting software. Caseware did not sync to Sage Intacct, so we would have to import trial balances daily throughout the month-end close process. Caseware also didn't try to provide a work around for the sync issue and their customer service was very poor.

Better than Spreadsheets by far!
We've realized that this tool kept us on track when we went to a decentralized accounting operation due to growth and the pandemic.
PROSWe like the user interface and ease of tracking items that need to get done. We also like that it identifies areas of needed improvement with its analytics, and that we can use it to track our PBCs and improve document version control.
CONSWe underutilize its capabilities because it has soo many of them, so it may take us a while to see additional productivity, but I'm confident it will deliver. One thing that I wish it had was the ability to override signoff dates. Sometimes we forget to mark the item as complete until the next day or two, and that messes with the analytics by falsely indicating latency.

Reasons for switching to FloQast
We made the switch so we could track our reconciliations that connect directly to our GL to indicate a tie-out or not. We also got tired of maintaining spreadsheets each time a new monthly close came around.

Ease of Use
Very positive experience with FloQast. We were able to implement the software by our internally-set deadline and begin using the software with proficiency early-on. Would recommend to others.
PROSI think the best thing about FloQast is the ease to which a new user can understand and successfully use the new software. No extensive training was required for my department to implement the software. It is intuitive and very user friendly. The individual assigned to guide us through the set-up did a great job, and I loved the follow-up meetings after the go-live date to ensure we didn't have any issues. I also like the analytics component of the software, which we didn't have previously.
CONSI wish that FloQast had better functionality for role-based security, but we get around this issue by creating multiple companies and then limiting the access to those "companies." Because I can still view all of the data from a combined-company approach, it is only a small inconvenience.
Reasons for switching to FloQast
More functionality; better user interface; having the monthly financial close and the GL reconciliation in the same software.

Floqast best Close and support toll around
It has been great from first call to implementation. They really care and support during the entire process.

Excellent product to assist in refining your close process
There are many things to love about the software. What I appreciated the most was ease of setup and use. Makes it very easy to create buy-in with your teams to use the software.
CONSThey should continue to improve their fluctuation analysis module. It is good, but basic.

Increase viability and efficiency with FloQast
FloQast has been an amazing experience. The integration and rollout of the product was truly easy and the FloQast support team was second to none. FloQast has made close more efficient and more visible which has allowed our company to close faster and focus on process improvements.
PROSThe integration of FloQast with our ERP system was seamless. FloQast is a simple and ease to use product which helps with rolling out the product to the business and adoption of users. The product has helped give visibility into the close process at each operation business unit and helped us gain more efficiencies in the close process. Additionally by utilizing the perm file - we are able to how desktop procedures and other important information in one place that helps with onboarding new employees/retaining knowledge.
CONSThe Compliance function i believe needs to be built out more. While this is a new product with FloQast and constantly being improved, AuditBoard is currently a solution that is better for a public company's needs/

Best Accounting Software
Floqast is one of the easiest implemented softwares I have ever used.
CONSThere aren't many, but one feature I would like to see is being able to make templates for adding new tasks and reconciliations.

FloQast review
FloQast provides a great dashboard view of your close status and it will allow us to manage the close in an efficient way within the prescribed deadline
PROSFloQast is a great period management software, and it provides greater visibility into our month-end close progress. FloQast functionality allows us to track reconciliation and checklist items separately
CONSHonestly, there is not much shortfall to mention here but it would be great to have an option to link supporting docs (stored in a cloud base) that are relevant to the reconciliations

Can't live without it
It is absolutely obvious this software was designed and built by accountants. The logic behind the product features is so refreshing. And they are continuously coming out with new, innovative features. Consistently improving the product and adding to it. FloQast is not going to rest on it's laurels, they are going to continue to innovate and move with the needs of their customers.

FloQast is amazing!
FloQast has been a great partner helping us from implementing the software to continuous improvements based on our feedback. The Software has been extremely user friendly and easy to work with. The FloQast team has been amazing to work with.
PROSThe checklist and reconciliation platform looks amazing. The software provides exactly what we're looking for in a close software. We have fully utilized the checklist for our month end close and other operational workflows.
CONSThe analysis and calendar function took some time to develop but the FloQast team has provided those updates recently.

Easy to use

First time user of the software
Ease of use. Great resource during a close because at other places (heavily dependent on an calendar in Excel), it can be difficult to assess what parts of the close are complete without constant follow-up. Sometimes messages can missed or mis-understood. Floqast eliminates the confusion.

FloQast Is Awesome!

FloQast - can't imagine the monthly close without it!
We have been very happy with FloQast, it has helped us reduce time off of our close and not miss any reconciliations or close tasks.

FloQast is a well-designed software that utilizes up-to-date technology
The support and implementation staff at FloQast is top notch. They are accountants that speak the same language and the really go above and beyond to answer questions and provide support.
PROSThe element I like most about FloQast is the visibility it provides to a manager or controller in the status of multiple entities in a consolidated close process. It links to the accounting system and general ledger and allows review, all in place. I was part of the implementation of FloQast and it was easy and intuitive to use. By using software tags, the utility is unlimited. I have worked in accounting for many years, attempting to link data from multiple systems. I can say that FloQast does honestly does this.
CONSBecause the software is powerful and user-defined, if you don't have a clear objective to your use of FloQast, your users can get lost in its functions.

Reduced our close time by half!
I appreciate the checklist and work-flow allowing for a quicker close. Each staff member understands what they are responsible for and is notified when variances or changes in balances occur. It has allowed us to maintain more organization and close much quicker than in the past.
CONSThe refresh and loading times can often be very long. There is also glitches often. I wish there was also an app option!

Great for global teams!
We started as a small team of me and two others, where I was doing the main account recs. We were not able to reconcile all the balance sheet accounts and the month-end close process was loose. Implementing Floqast forced us to put together a formal close checklist and allowed me to easily assign tasks to the others on the team and hold them accountable. We're now a team of six people in two countries and the visibility of Floqast across entities allows me to know exactly where we are in the close process and at what step we're running into issues.
PROSI love the ease of use and ability to quickly add new users and entities. The user interface is well thought out and allows users to quickly learn the software.
CONSI can't think of anything I don't like about Floqast.

FloQast makes my life so much easier. I have clients and don't know how I would manage without FQ!
The dashboard is a great way to stay organized and make sure all tasks and deadlines are met efficiently and effectively. The review notes are very handy for communicating any questions or comments to other team members.
CONSI have found some of the administrative functions to be a little cumbersome but no issues with the basic user features.

FloQast is a user friendly tool that has helped us organize and control our close process.
The customer support team is fantastic- very helpful and the response time is instantaneous. The tool is also pretty user friendly and intuitive to use, this has allowed minimal downtime when adding new users and cut down on training time.
CONSWe experienced some minor road bumps with google syncing up on a delay but that was resolved. We look forward to all the updates and additional functionalities the developers are making.

Effective and Efficient
I love the visibility FloQast offers to our closing process. The interactive dashboard is a great snapshot with filters, making it efficient and effective for viewing progress, and navigating to specific task for review and sign off.
CONSI honestly have not encountered a con with FloQast!
